A one-day practical workshop for all those involved with delivering and promoting their school's news & reputation through PR and Media
Whether you are looking for new ideas and techniques or you are new to the world of PR and Media, this workshop will give you the right training and knowledge so you CAN deliver your school's message with clarity and confidence
Today's media explosion means you need to be prepared, this practical one day workshop will cover:
- Journalists - what makes them tick and how to build a relationship with them
- Spotting what makes news - whether it's for new social media use or for your own school website, you need to know what's newsworthy in your school
- Understand how local newspaper, radio and television newsrooms work. How to communicate successfully with them electronically
- Put your skills to the test with practical sessions on what makes a story, writing a press release, including photographic opportunities and following up to ensure success every time!

Amanda Metcalf Wells, Director, 'PR For Schools'
Amanda has 25 years experience as a news reporter, spanning regional newspapers, BBC Radio and TV news reporting. Amanda has brought that experience to the world of independent education, acting as a PR Consultant in a variety of schools. Her consultancy 'PR For Schools' also advises on crisis management and offers media training to prepare schools for the glare of media publicity.
